About PAFA Spirit Cheer
Join the sport of cheer !
The sport of cheerleading includes
sideline cheers, stunting, jumps,
motions, halftime routines and
competition routines in preparation for
junior high and high school cheer.
PAFA Spirit offers athletes in grades
1 & 2 the opportunity to cheer on our
MINI Team and we offer athletes in
grades 3-8 the opportunity to cheer on
our Sideline Teams. These teams learn
the skill set of cheer and then showcase
their skills when they cheer for
the
Palatine Amateur Football
Associations football program
at games
during their season .
Cheer season begins in July in the evenings.
We kick off with skill clinics,
conditioning, and stunting. It is a great way to prepare for
game day.
Sideline Athletes will practice 2-3 nights a week
during July and Augustt and then 1 night a week
once school starts. They will cheer each
weekend, either Home or Away on Saturday
or Sunday, during the PAFA
football regular season (Aug-Oct) and
then will cheer during the Playoffs and
Championship games in early November.
We also offer the opportunity for 1st
and 2nd graders to cheer on our Mini
Teams! We offer 2 sessions for these
teams so you may sign up for one or
both! These teams practice in August
through early October 1 night a week and
will also cheer at home football games
on either Saturday or Sunday in late
September, early October.

contact the PAFA Spirit President.
When offered, Poms is for girls in grades 6-8.
The sport of poms focuses on competition
routines in preparation of junior high and high
school poms.
Tumbling and Dance
Tumbling is an important part of cheerleading
and dance is an important part of poms. PAFA
strongly encourages our participants to enroll in tumbling
and dance classes and clinics if they wish to continue in High School Cheerleading
or Poms at a varsity or competition level.
PAFA does not include tumbling or
dance lessons as part of the program, however tumbling is incorporated into routines for those girls with tumbling experience. Our coaches are not certified gymnastics/tumbling coaches and thus, to ensure safety, they do not spot or instruct on tumbling techniques.
There are a number of fantastic cheer
tumbling programs throughout the
Palatine area.
Volunteers Needed!
With the exception of our high school coaches, we
are an all-volunteer organization and we
always need the help of our participant
families. If you are interested in
volunteering please contact
the PAFA Spirit President.
